The Emanuel Congregation Brotherhood is firmly committed to maintaining the privacy of visitors to its website and to the privacy of the members of Emanuel Congregation. The following discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices for this website.

By using this site, you consent to the terms and conditions of this privacy policy. The Brotherhood reserves the right to modify its privacy policy from time to time.

Information Collection and Use
The Brotherhood believes that personally identifying information, such as your name, postal and e-mail address or telephone number, is private and confidential. You can have general access to our site without providing any personally identifying information. The Brotherhood collects personally identifying information only when you voluntarily submit it, such as when you e-mail comments, request information, place an order, sign up for an event, program, service, or Brotherhood sponsored social network group, or information already provided to Emanuel Congregation, its affiliates, and its religious school.

Information in the Brotherhood’s Database
The Brotherhood maintains a centralized database of its members and uses information from the data bases of Emanuel Congregation, its affiliates, and the Religious School. This database is used for mailing notices of meetings, events, programs, and services and to report on Brotherhood business from time to time. In addition the Brotherhood maintains contact information about the lay and professional leadership of the congregation. Use of this information is governed by the opt-in/opt-out policies outlined below.

Release of Information to Third Parties
The Brotherhood does not release your personally identifying information to third parties unless you have given us permission to do so or unless such release is required to comply with the law or to protect the rights or safety of the Brotherhood, Emanuel Congregation, or our website users. Information that is collected will not be sold, shared, or rented to any outside company or organization. Information that is collected will be used solely for the purpose for which it is given or to inform you of Brotherhood events, programs, services, and business. All content, with the exclusion of material attributed to or hyperlinked to external sites, is the property of the Emanuel Congregation Brotherhood and may not be reproduced in whole or in part without the written permission of the Brotherhood. Online Order Forms
This site may, from time to time use order forms for customers to request information, products, and services. We collect visitors’ contact information (i.e., their name, address, phone numbers, e-mail addresses,  unique identifiers (account numbers, passwords), and financial information (account or credit card numbers). Contact information from the order forms is used to send orders and information about our organization to our customers/visitors who request it. The customer’s contact information is also used to get in touch with the visitor when necessary. Users may opt-out of receiving future mailings (see the choice/opt-out section below). Financial information that is collected is used to bill the user for products and services they purchase online. Unique identifiers (such as account numbers or passwords) are collected from website visitors for use as account numbers in our record system.

Information that is collected on online order forms becomes the property of the Brotherhood. The Brotherhood does not sell, market or distribute this information and will not use it for purposes other than indicated in this privacy policy.

Registration
On certain parts of our site, users are required to give contact information (such as their names and e-mail addresses) and unique identifiers (such as passwords, or account numbers). This information is used to send users the information they request and/or to fulfill orders that are created online. The contact information may also be used to contact the visitor when necessary. Unique identifiers (such as account numbers and passwords) are collected for use as account numbers in our record system. Account information submitted by users may be used to verify and protect users identity when they are conducting online transactions through our Web site. The Brotherhood may use contact information to distribute news it deems of general interest to Emanuel Congregation members or Brotherhood members. Users may opt-out of receiving future mailings (see the choice/opt-out section).

Online Surveys
Our online surveys may ask visitors for contact information (such as e-mail addresses). We may use contact data from our surveys to send the user information about our organization. The user’s contact information may also be used to contact the visitor when necessary. Users may opt-out of receiving future mailings (see the choice/opt-out section below). Other contact information is collected from website visitors for use as account numbers in our record system.

Information that is collected online in surveys becomes the property of the Brotherhood. The Brotherhood does not sell, market or distribute this information and will not use it for purposes other than indicated in this privacy policy.

Public Forums
The Brotherhood sponsors some social network discussion groups for members of the Brotherhood and Emanuel Congregation. These discussion groups are a free service to enable members to share comments about a wide variety of subjects. Only individuals older than 13 years of age may participate and by participating you are certifying that you are old enough to participate.

The Brotherhood may make the postings to discussion groups available to its users. We ask that participants refrain from including profanity, obscenities, hateful, and/or defamatory language. The Brotherhood does not review items before they are posted and reserves the right to remove any information posted.

Please remember that any information that is disclosed in these areas becomes public information and you should exercise caution when deciding to disclose your personal information. WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REMOVE ANYONE WHO VIOLATES THESE PROCEDURES.

Security
The sites covered by this policy have security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control.  This site uses secure servers furnished by our web host, iPage (http://www.ipage.com), when transferring personal and financial information across its server. Therefore, information transferred by users on non-secure parts of the Union site is done at the users discretion.

Pages Housed on the Brotherhood Website
Web sites housed with the Brotherhood web site are required to abide by a privacy policy consistent with that that is outlined by the Union of Reform Judaism.  Significant violations of this privacy policy may result in the revoking of web space. In addition, the Brotherhood reserves the right not to post information and to not link to Web pages that violate the policies and practices stated in the Union’s Web site guidelines (http://urj.org/cpages/websites) and those set forth in the EdgeWeb Hosting Policy (http://ww2.edgewebhosting.net/AUP.cfm).

Choice/Opt-Out

The Brotherhood gives users the following options for removing their information from our database to not receive future communications or to no longer receive our service.
