For us in the Brotherhood, this celebration has many meanings. On a personal level, it is, of course, a rejoicing of God making it posssible for us to throw off Pharaoh’s shackles of slavery and for our exodus from Egypt.
For us, as participants, there is enormous satisfaction in sharing the retelling of our story and partaking of the meal with all who are there.
For us, as an organization, it is most gratifying to make this seder possible for all Emanuelites and the friends of Emanuel that attend. For us, also, the Second Night Passover Seder is the major fundraiser for the Brotherhood each year. The funds then are used to sponsor OSRUI camp scholarships for the children of Emanuel.
For all of these reasons, the Brotherhood thanks all at Emanuel and all of Emanuel’s friends for their contributions, attendance, and participation.
