The Brotherhood Shabbat each year gives the Brotherhood the chance to lead the Congregation in an Erev Shabbat service that contains, in addition to the all the elements of a traditional Shabbat service, some additional prayers that express our praise and hopes from a male point of view.
The Brotherhood handles the entire service, including the D’Var Torah, done by the Torah reader, and the sermon, delivered by the Brotherhood President. We do ask Rabbi Zedek for help in doing the Kaddish and reading the names for Yarzeits and recent passings.
